Chainsaw art

by Edlyn Clevenger

This album was self recorded and mixed. I put together a makeshift recording studio in the loft of an old cabin I lived in at the time. I was eight months pregnant. This was/is a smoke signal of sorts, a beacon launched, before diving into the deep deep depths of Motherhood.

I did each of these tracks in one take, and then layered harmonies and rhythm on some tracks. I added a bit of reverb, and played with the sound of my instruments on a couple tracks. No auto-tune, no pitch correction, ever. That was important to me, to offer them up only, and as they are in the wild organic universe, with just a pinch of salt, a pinch of sugar.

Professionally mastered by Levi Seitz of Black Belt Mastering in Seattle, WA. Album cover art is by Basya Kilcoyne of Co. Mayo, IE.
